Connecting to VPN

I added a VPN connection in My Work Network. However, I never get the option to connect in the Conectivity popup.

Even when I try to connect manually by holding the VPN entry in My Work Network and click connect, nothing never happen. Not even an error message...

I've asked the same question before - the way Windows Mobile sets up the "connections" is counter-intuitive at best. The best answer I got was just people saying what combinations of settings work for them, but no one could really explain what the settings do or how they affected things. It seems to be a mystery that it even works at all

In the "Exceptions" list in the Connections/Advanced section, add the IP addresses you'll be using inside the VPN. For instance, let's say you're VPN'ing into your home network and it used 192.168.20.x. You'd put in 192.168.20.* I believe (memory is fuzzy on exact wildcard syntax). When you go to an address in the exceptions list, it automatically attempts the connection through the VPN first (it'll connect to the VPN router first, and then pass through the IP request).

I do this all the time when I need to connect to a computer at home.

Finally got it.

I had the same problem with the VPN connection. I had the VPN connection setup and when I clicked connect it would just click and nothing else would happen. I finally fixed the problem by Hard resetting my PDA. When the wireless connection comes up I had to choose Internet intead of Work. Then I could create my VPN connection and it worked when I manually connected to the VPN. You may can piddle with the settings and change it to "Internet" instead of "Work" without having to Hard Reset the PDA.

Oh and by the way Dell was absolutely no help on this issue. I believe it is because they don't know the solution themselves.
