:realmad: For some reason my screen alignment is WAY OFF, when I tap on my SD Card folder it always opens the folder under that, in other words I always have to tap above a folder just to open it.
The problem is that I have tied everything, I have tried to re-align my screen no less than 20 times, I did a soft reset, I even did a hard reset and the alignment is still off.
When i go to re-align my screen i Can never get it to align from the first try I have to always tray more than 3-5 times
So does anyone know what is wrong?
No I ahve no screen protector on there, I got the PDA in March with the A02 Rom already on there, and I upgraded to the A03 rom about 1-3 weeks ago, so I know its not from the rom update because this problem just happened yesterday night.
Check to see if the frame of the screen is pressing on the screen somewhere. Run a business card around the edge of the screen just under that frame to remove any debris that may be pressing on the screen.
Also, when you calibrate the screen, hold the stylus straight up and down so that your fingers can't brush against the screen in any way to mis-calibrate it. You should also try to keep your fingers clear of the screen when tapping, as they can drag and trigger a "touch" reaction.

What app(s) had you just got done using when you noticed it? I have noticed mine will get off after watching a movie in BetaPlayer lanscaped or after playing Minigolf (Momentum Games) or Virtual Pool or any app that does obvious shifting of the screen to fit itself.

OKay I just emailed Dell Customer support about it and this is the response they gave me:
Thank you for contacting Dell Technical Support.
I apologize for the problems you have encountered with your Dell Axim50.
We appreciate the opportunity to work with you to resolve the situation.
I have submitted a request to ship the necessary replacement Axim50 to
you for your satisfaction.
So it seems as if they are going to send me a new Axim X50v, or atleast I hope they dont forget that I have an X50v, because I will go mad without a VGA screen, all those pixels will kill me :P ANyway, Thanks alot for the help guys
Just so you're not disappointed, you're actually getting a refurb unit, not a new unit.
And did you try the card thing around the edge of the screen, between the screen and casing? You'd be surprised what a little misplaced pressure can do to your alignment.

Really?! A refurb unit, well that sucks, actually I did try the card thing and my Axim is actually working perfectly so far, but Im not going to get my hopes up too much since this morning I thought I fixed it but an hour later I find out that it got messed up again.
Thanks for telling me about the card thing though because the results seem to be more promising, but I will give it till tomorrow before I can officially say that I have no more alignment problems
I had the very same problem this morning. I used a metro card to clean around the screen and now it works like new. A metro card is the plastic card you swipe to get on the subway or bus. It is thin and flexable. This was the first problem I had with my X50V. Had it three weeks. :) Man did I panic for a few minuets. Calmed down, tried it, working for the rest of the day. I carry it around in a shoulder bag in the slip case that came with it. Something got in there. Good luck.

Yup same here, this is the first problem I have ever had with my X50v since I have had it ever since March, I also just cleaned the edges with a credit card and so far it has been working flawlessly, I even did the screen alignment and it aligned from the 2nd time (the first time my finger accidently touched the screen) but hopefully it will continue to run flawlessly like this.
You have a known problem and Dell is giving you the correct answer. I bought my x50v January at the CES show in Las Vegas and it arrived with the screen alignment problem. I tried everything I could think of for a couple of days and then called Dell. Once I got the guy in India to understand me, he authorized a replacement and I even got him to overnight it to me. No problems since.
