Question x50v Ebook reader choice

Beginning to read ebooks rather than paperbacks.
Choices for me are between Mobipocket and MS Reader.
I like the interface to Mobipocket, however, the fonts are fuzzy even with ClearType checked in settings. Using a True Type font.

So this leaves MS Reader and all of it's DRM hassles. But the fonts are clearer.

Reading some free books before committing to ebooks. As it stands now, MS Reader wins out.

Next step for Mobipocket is to submit a support request.

Have you tried ereader (http://www.ereader.com) I've been using it for a few weeks now. Very good and a lot of titles available at their site.

Mark.

Ereader works great and best of all its free. I prefer it to MS Reader. It is a lot more configurable than MS REader. The settings are easier to get to to also.

Where's the free version? I only see the PRO which is bundled with some books for $14.95.

I use Mobipocket right now with Tweak2K VGA Brute Force Hack and it works great. It has the same features but without rapid read. I'm looking for a good ebook maker like the eReader Studio. Any suggestions?

Just install the full version. You will lose some features when it expires but there are more than adequate features to keep using the free version.

This reason alone makes Tweaks2K2 worth the small price tag it asks for. Mobipocket for some reason kept delaying the release of a VGA version of reader. If you use the VGA hack on Tweaks2k2, Mobipocket looks beautiful. Don't you just love the auto scroll now that we lose the scroll wheel from X5.

Installation doesn't allow selection of install location. Doesn't work with *.prc Ebooks.
Dune: House Corrino ebook is $16.95, ebooks.com is $4.99. That eliminates ereader for me.

Next step is try out Tweaks2K2 with Mobipocket.

eReader has two version the Pro and the standard. The standard is free and can be downloaded form the site. I moved mine to a memory card after the install and it works great. As for the ebooks they can be installed directly to your memory card with the provided software.

No joy with Tweaks2K2 with Mobipocket. Fonts too small for my aged eyes. Even when increasing the font from Mobipocket.
But, the hack did work.

Stuck with msReader until Mobipocket goes VGA.

There is also the issue of WM5 support.

That's the whole reason I chose ereader. I like to lay in bed, stick a pillow on my chest, and just lay there with the Axim on the pillow, auto-scrolling. Maybe I'm just too lazy. :)

I am avid ebook reader...and have had the same decision problems as many of you. MS reader and EReader are free...and depending on the price or availability of a particular book in one format or another I go with that particular reader.

MS reader has one advantage that I like is the ability to create eBooks using desktop MS Word. There is a free plugin available on Microsoft Site and it can process any document that you can read in word into .lit format

Mobipocket lite is free. Same features as the PRO. I tried MS Reader but found it takes up too much RAM and a hassle to activate. I got a lit converter to change all my purchased books to the Mobipocket format.

MS Word to create ebooks is pretty cool. I would use MS Reader again solely for that if not for anything else.

Are you changing your settings in Mobipocket or just in the Windows Mobile Settings. Inside of Mobipocket there are settings for font sizes and other related settings.
