How to rename CF Card?

Hello,

suddenly the name of my CF Card has changed so that it is not "CF Card" any more. Therefore all shortcuts are gone. I tried to rename it again to "CF Card" with some tools, but it does not work. I can rename my SD Card and the Built-in storage, but after rebooting the device, the name of my CF Card hast changed again.

How can I rename my CF Card to "CF Card" so that all shortcuts work fine again?

What happens when you remove it, and then try to insert the card again?

If you have a card reader stick it in that then right click on it in My Computer and hit format. There is a box to enter a new name for it.

Obviously he doesn't wan't to format it. Otherwise, NONE of his shortcuts would EVER work!

You don't have to Format it to use that box to rename it.

But you should also be able to just go to My Computer or Win Explorer ans slow-double-click on the name and change it there.

What tools did you use?

You can try editing a setting in the registry to change the name of your card. With a registry editor, navigate to HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\PCMCIA. Then change the string data of of the Folder value to "CF Card". Save the changes, and finally soft-reset the device.
