GSPlayer was selected after trying too many. Works great.

Um...not only is that the OLD 1.03 version, but it has the 'crack' in the zip file...so this is not authorized, nor is it allowed by Apple.

OMG! I just installed GSPlayer and tried it. WOW! even better than Pocket Music and it's FREE!!!!!!!! The sound quality is better than PM and the its very flexible in terms of features. I have 2 questions:

1) where do I get skins for GSPlayer?
2) how do I listen to shoutcast radio online using GSPlayer?

Thanks for recommending this wonderful program!

I use SoundExplorer 2005 - I think it has a rich set of features.. especially the ability to delete files directly from the program. Not very useful for MP3 playing and doesn't really support playlists.. but it is great as a podcast player (my main use for it).

Unfortunately, the support from the company is non-existant and there is no skin support. But.. the sound quality is tops!

Skins are here: http://home.planet.nl/~verho612/Gssite/gsplay.htm

Shoutcast radio is simple, make sure GSPlayer is associated with .pls (go to the settings to confirm or set) then just go to the website www.shoutcast.com, and click on a stream, and GSPlayer should open up and start playing it.

If you find a station you like, go to save playlist, name it something, then go find another station you like. After you find it, go to "add file" and pick the playlist you saved and then re-save it and repeat the process with the next station. This way you can start to create a playlist of favorite radio stations, so that next time you don't have to go through PIE.

Thanks for the link to the skins and the tips on using shoutcast.com. Unfortunately those skins are not True VGA compatible Does anyone know where I can find True VGA skins for GSPlayer? Thanks in advance!

I created one a while back for my own use... I think its is the only one I have seen so far... You can modify any existing one for you own use if you want... but there are some limitations.. such as the size of the buttons etc...

It took a little looking since the search engine for Brighthand is not working... but here you go... a VGA skin for GSPlayer...

I used to use GSPlayer, but am a recent convert to MortPlayer. It seems to be have all the features of GSPlayer and more! Truly a top notch application, and designed for use without a stylus.
