I use GSplayer.

1. more advanced setting & effect setting

2. save more power in battery
(I listen mp3 music about 45 minutes, it just use about 1% of battery!)

3. have MIDI plug-in, it can play midi directly with plug-in.

4. Simple GUI

5. Can change skin

6. Fast updated version

I agree.. I've been waiting for that good looking greenish skin to be offered up for ages now! I just want to be able to create a simple one myself.. but with no details.. no go. Oh well!

I just use WM Player. Any reason not to? Is the audio quality inferior or something?

I did a test of various mp3 players & thier power consumption with a microdrive. It is here if you are interested...

If power consumption with a microdrive is an issue to you, then pocketmusic is the best, followed by pocketplayer. gpsplayer came out terribly.

really? .. i have tried MortPlayer and BetaPlayer for my mp3's but the funny thing is that i get MORE battery life with BetaPlayer with the screen off than with MortPlayer with the screen off.

(when u said memory-wasting, i am equating that to using more resources than necessary which in turn would drain more of the battery/faster) .. aplogies if i am wrong.
