Streaming video from PC to Axim

Yeah, I think this topic has been discussed a zillion times. And I must look very stupid to ask again. But I tried the whole day googling and searching different forums but can't get the solution.

My task is: I am trying to stream video on my Axim.
My question:
(i) Is the video format running on pocket pc (say, .wmv) different from the one running on pc? I ask this question because I try to directly stream some video on my axim from some website (opened in IE) but I can't. They can be streamed on my pc without problem. So, I guess my next approach is to stream video from my PC to my Axim (and the Axim will communicate with my PC via wifi). Right?
(ii) So, my next step is to use Windows Media Encoder on my PC. I installed Windows Media Encoder 9 and then Windows Media Encoder Utilites 8, as instructed. I opened the Encoder and click on Customs setting when prompted with a wizard. Then, problem arises.... I can't get beyond this step as the program shut down with an error message (it says, Windows Media Encoder encountered some problems and need to close immediately). I thought it must be my PC so, I installed the encoder on another pc and the same thing happened...

So, I basically got stuck at this very first step. What should I do? I googled the error message but no result found....
Please help help help.....

Sorry can't really answer your questions. But have you tried www.orb.com for streaming. I have streamed audio, video, photos from my laptop onto my X50v using Orb's software. Their documentation and help sucks, but the software is not too complicated and of course there are people in this forum who will happily help you.

As far as i have been able to gather from general use, the IE embedded in WM2003 doesnt include the embedded video bit. The PC does, which is why you could stream on the desktop, but not PPC.

With regard to streaming, I havent got WM utilities installed, just WMP10 and WME9 along with codecs. I found the way is to select under source "from file" then browse to the file i want to see. Also, try and keep the bandwidth a step below the maximum (for a G network) and you wont get so many dropouts.

To summarise,

Try uninstalling WM utilities.
