X50V Running Slow . . .Where to put programs??

Could you please tell me where the best place to install progams? I have a 512 MB SD card as well as the normal BIS ect.

Any idea what works best for the following programs

Currently in Built in Storage:

Pocket Informant 2005
Adobe Reader
Bejeweled
Memmaid
REsco Explorer 2003
Resco Picture Viewer
SE-VGA
X50Mix
HandyShopper

Currently on SD Card:
Monopoly
Scrabble

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Carrie

I'm new here, but from what I've read, most suggest you install everything expect launcher and other system level apps onto the SD Card.

For example, I would suggest you install everything onto the SD card, EXCEPT:
- SE-VGA
- Memmaid

Which you probably want in the built-in storage (not RAM).

I think your current installation locations are ok. Most of my frequently run programs are in BIS without slowdown. The next things to check are:

1. Are you properly closing running programs with the Switcher bar or third party utility?

2. How often are you using MemMaid to clean out junk/temp files? This is especially important after surfing.

3. Did you move your PIE cache to BIS? This significantly slows down your system. Try moving to SD instead.

Yesterday I install A03 ROM and decided to reinstall all the programs from scratch trying to maximize storage space.

My Storage space available after the ROM update and prior to any software installation was:
..................Storage........Program
Allocated:...30.88MB........30.87MB
In Use::.n.....2.29MB........11.51MB
Free:..........28.59MB........19.37MB
Free Built-in Storage:....90.5Mb

Then this is what I did:

Installation to BIS:

Pocket Informant
PocketBreeze
ContactBreeze
iLauncher
Sprite Backup Premium
Sprite Space Detective
Sprite Pocket Monitor
SKTools
GSPlayer
Wisbar Advance 2
Advance Explorer
Remote Display Control
Microsoft Reader

Installed to Default RAM (couldn't put to BIS)

PocketMusic
Yacht (game)

All other software and games to the SD card

Memory reading after complete setup

Storage........Program
Allocated:...30.88MB........30.87MB
In Use::......11.87MB........14.68MB
Free:..........19.01MB........16.19MB
Free Built-in Storage:....68.88Mb

It was probally just one app that runs all the time that didn't like bis. I find anything that reads writes lots does not like bis. I used to have almost every thing on sd but moved it for gps so I can have lots of maps and remove the other card for mp3s. All is good except I seem to have a memory leak somewhere :realmad:
