could i continually plug-in to the AC adapter?

though i do know that the x50v comes with a Li-Ion battery, there is one thing that iam not sure of...

consider the case wherein i have a 90% charge remaining, and i plug it into the AC adapter to charge... well, we are quite sure that this would be fully charged within an hour or so...

okay, instead of taking out after two hours, i fell asleep, and woke up the next morning... this would then be about at least 8 hours of continuous charge...
  • is this okay for the battery?
  • wouldnt the battery lose its MAX charge (which they say decreases with time)?
  • wouldnt it damage anything, etc?
thanks!!!

I do this everyday.

So if it does reduce max life, the effects are too minimal for me to notice, cause I haven't noticed any visible drop in battery life.

I believe Li-ion has overcharging protection and it is ok to do that. It won't harm your battery in anyway
Correct me if I am wrong.

The Axim is never really off. When you turn it off, it goes to stand-by mode, and continues to drain current. Someone on this forum did a test way back on operating and charge current. When the battery is fully charged, the input current drops to about 6mA, which is probably the stand-by current mostly to power the unit (it has to keep the data in RAM alive), and not to over-charge the battery.

I think it's actually good to leave your Axim in the craddle because it provides current to the ever-power-hungry unit, so it doesn't draw precious power from the battery.
