Change Icons?

Is there any way to change the icon displayed for a program? I've got a couple programs that use the same icon and others I just do not care for.

Thanks

Yes. That is, if the program is NOT in the ROM you can. The easiest way is find the program on your PPC. Copy all the .dll and .exe files onto your PC.

Download Resource Hacker (freeware). Open the .dll or .exe files and find the bitmap icons.

Then you can export the bitmap and edit using MSPaint. After editing, import them back using Resource Hacker and save the file. Copying it back over to your PPC and it should work.

Or you could just use a launcher programme that lets you choose your own icons

(I use iLauncher by SBSH - linked in my MyPDA)

Many apps include more than one icon in their .EXE or .DLL.
By editing the .LNK with any text editor you can instruct the link to use one of the other included icons instead of the default one.
This works for files both in ROM or not.
If there is only one icon included then you'll have to use one of the methods above.
Here's a link that explains a bit more about editing or creating .LNK files.

Thanks, I'll look into using that freeware. And I may have an issue because a lot of my programs I do put into ROM.

When I said ROM, I do not mean Built-In Storage. I mean ROM as in like the "firmware", directly from Dell that is not changeable (unless you install updates directly from Dell).
