Some Microdrives are also locked to prevent you using them in PDAs (otherwise people would still be ripping apart ipods...)

Oh right, so that's what microdrives are, i was wondering what they were, i can see your point about them consuming vast amounts of power, i guess its not really worth buying one even if it were cheap unless you wanted to use your axim with the mains, and that would defeat the whole purpose of buying the axim in the first place.
I'll make sure that if i buy a SD card, it'll be flash.
