Disabling SSID Broadcasts
I have a new x50v. I have a Linksys G router at home. My broblem is that I like to have SSID broacasts disabled. I used to be able to do this until I got my Axim. Wehn disabled, it won't find my network. I setup the SSID name in the Odessy client, but is won't work. When I enable broadcasts, the Axim picks up my router just fine. I also have MAC address filters on. The Axim still works with the MAC address filter and broadcasts enbled. Right when I disblae broacasts, I loose my WiFi connection. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I am not using WEP or WPA.

Strange, it works for me. My Linksys isn't bbroadcasting SSID and my X50v finds it just fine. I also use MAC filtering and WEP, so it should work for you. It does take a bit longer to find the router, but it does connect. I don't use Odyssey anymore, since I updated to A03, but I did use it for th eolder ROM image.

linksys wrt54g and 2 x30H at home , with SSID disabled , MAC address filtering and WPA.
I had trouble as well but i fixed it by enable SSID , connecting the x30h and once it saw the network and got an ip from the DHCP i disabled the SSID.
And now it works. I guess it needed to "see" the SSID at least once ?

I disabled the odessy client and everthing works great. Before I was only telling it not to connect using the client. Thanks guys, and maybe girls, for your help.

I've had a lot of problems getting my X5 connected to my WiFI. SOmetime's it'd work sometimes it wouldnt. I installed an app called WinC and it fixed everything. Try using that.
