Worried Finally, is x50v usable with stock battery?

Hmm... My choice is to buy X50v with no GSM and poor battery(I will use it when it really needed) but with great gfx and windows or Nokia 9500 with great standby and GSM with EDGE but with poor processor and nearly no multimedia.

Choice is hard... It is great to watch a movie without conversion on x50v, but in case of a work - I will not be able to work effectively due to lack of keyboard and poor battery of x50v.

Is Dell x50v usable with stock battery or not?

As long as your not using Wifi, or playing major games the battery is ok.. Certainly it's on a par with my old Palm

1.5 hours of life for me when I set it on auto, looow backlight, and wifi. Its decent if you have two 1100 batteries.

I have my X50v for 5 days now, and yes the battery isn't that great, but it's not useless.

I manage to browse internet on Wifi for 1 hours, listen MP3 for 3 hours and still have some spare battery.

The Cpu is set to Auto and the screen is set to the lowest brightness (that is still very bright for me) Screen is off when MP3 is played.

So it's not THAT terrible, but more juice will be needed if my days gets longer.

I have mine set to: auto cpu, auto Wlan powersave, lowest backlight and get 2.5+ hrs on wifi before it drops to below 20%.

Buy X50v, extended battery, GSM/GPRS CF module, XCPUScalar.

If you would fine-tune autoscale with XCPUScalar you could get almost 30 hours (is it true???) with the following usage:
30 mins of solitaire, 3-5 calls using GSM module, 10-30 minutes of PDAMill Arvale, several notes created, 10-30 mins of internet browsing, several checkings of the schedule, 2 new emails created and send, every hour checking for email and maybe some other tasks, which are not so power-consuming, always turned on, most of the time screen is off.

Of course if you would turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and set processor speed to maximum you would get only 3-4 hours with extended battery.
However most of the tasks work fine at 208 Mhz, while some are okey even at 104 Mhz. Standby is very good at 104 Mhz with screen off. :)

too bad even in "power-save" mode , it only goes down to 208. With it set to auto, it goes down to 104. i wish they had 104 as the lowest you could force it to.
