Blue Tooth Sniper
I was wondering, if you guys have seen the news that you can week your blue tooth to have a range of about a mile. Is there anyway that you can tweek the blue tooth on the X50 without voiding the warrenty? it would a pretty handy thing to have a 1 Mile range blue tooth (AKA named the Blue Sniper)

It really works? I mean, anyone have already tried? I'm curious about it, but don't have all that stuff to do that...

Yea, well the people at Popular Science Magazine did it and it worked. I would think they are credible.

This has nothing to do with tweaking the bluetooth power and everything to do with adding an external high gain unidirectional antenna. Since you'll need to open the case of the X50 and build an impedance matching circuit then bring out the coax though a hole in the case in order to interface to an external antenna, I'd say NO to your question. (unless you're a hardware geek like me). John Hering (the guy that built the 'rifle') used a BT module with a class 1 power rating (range of 100 meters instead of 10) and external antenna connector.

yea I know it's all about the antenna, but I was thinking that if the have like a bluetooth addon that would go into the memory slot you could open that up and attach the High Gain Antenna to it. So.. you wouldn't have to risk messing up the X50 :P

I did somthing simlar with a bluetooth game controller. I needed more range than the normal 10 to 15 ft. after adding antenas, i can now get around 100 ft range, way more than i need...

You'd walk around for about 5 seconds before a SWAT team tackled your ass and beat you sensless .

Well, since the x50v has CF & SDIO slots, you might be able to get an addon BT card to work. What software are you going to use? The snipper had a custom sniffer app written and the OS was Linux. (by this time next year, Linux should be fully ported to the x50).
Good luck!
