Help: Axim x50v suddenly EXTREMELY slow and un usable

Hi, I was installing Netfront to built in storage, once the PC said it was done the ppc started copying to bis.
well it stopped and some DLL in the bin folder. it sat there for 30min
so I tried canceling. That didnt work
so I had to reset.
When i started it back up it took atleast 2min to load completely. then 30-40sec to load the start menu. I then tried pluggin it in to the cable for a sync. Activsync sat there for a while at halfway progress but then said that there was an error and i cant use AS.
So i decided to do a hard reset. At the Align Screen it is still extremely slow.

Once you touch inbetween the black cross line,. I see frame by frame, it moving up the screen to the next position where i am suppose to touch.

One other thing i noticed before i reset. Was that all my apps in BIS on the start menu, the icons turned into the regular exe icon. as if the programs were missing.
Is it possible my entire BIS is dead?

Please help me out!
Thanks
-Mike

Yes, it's possible. Use the file utility of your choice to check to see if the programs are still loaded in BIS, but I'll bet they're gone.

I doubt that your BIS is wiped out or dead, but it's possible that all of the files have been deleted.

Try taking the battery out. Leaving it for an hour, put it back in and if it doesn't work then call Dell

Does anyone know if this happened because of installing the app. to BIS? I've installed some programs to BIS to save RAM but if there is a risk of losing the BIS I'll quit.

My BIS was also just wiped out after i installed A04. I'm now waiting for yet my SECOUND unit from Dell in 6 weeks. The first one had screen alignment issues and now this one had BIS just vanish on me. If you do a search you will find many people this has happened to. Like i said in a thread i started i will NEVER give Dell a dime of my money on another piece of crap handheld. I have had PDAs for years and never a problem and I'm now waiting for my secound one from them in 6 weeks.

Also the more searching i do at this site the more I'm convinced that you get what you pay for. The axim might be cheaper than lets say the HPs but the axim is a piece of XXXX so yo get what you pay for. A friend of mine is also on his secound one in a few months and the last refurb they sent him had a badly scratched screen and 2 dead pixels. I give up on Dell handhelds and their TERRIBLE customer service. It took me 2 hours to teach the idiot customer service rep the english language b4 i could even get him to understand what i was telling him. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

I wish you luck. I hope you and everyone here has better luck than most. You know if you read the history posts here. There is more negative posts than positive posts on the x50s. I am still kicking myself for taking a chance on this thing. So now I'm saving up my money and getting rid of this pile of dell junk and getting another PDA.

EDITED for language.

OK, we heard you the first time...
I actually like my Dell and my the next handheld will also be Dell.
You had a bad experience, it doesn't mean that all the other units are crappy. As the matter of fact I tink the majority of Axim users are very happy with their choice.

yah i love my axim to.

I am waiting for my new unit to come.
It is an awesome handheld. I think the BIS problem is limited though. I just hope it wont happen again.

Does dell take back the broken axim after they send me the new one?

Also does the new one come with a battery.?

And will they be made if I steal components from inside the axim?
:D:D:D
