Arrow XviD Capability?

I am going to buy my first PDA today and I have decided on the x50v. Few questions...

To my understanding there is no need to transcode the XviD movie to a lower bitrate. What is the highest possible bitrate that this device will play.

If the movie is over the native size of the 640*480 screen... will the player be able to resize the movie or do I need to reencode to a smaller resolution.

Will the player also be able to support AC3 decoding along with various subtitles?

Also... what is the recommended device to run the movies off of? A flash card or a microdrive? I shouldn't have any frame loss from either one... correct?

AC3 decoding and subtitles I'm not sure - everything else you've described, I have tried, and they seem to function well. I'm running my movies from my Compact Flash card, which as far as compact flash cards go is pretty slow; I've yet to have my music or movies skip on me.

Betaplayer will do resizing if required; reencoding is only necessary if the movie file is too large for your tastes.

Subs arent supported in Betaplayer at the moment.

Ac3 decoding? yes
Resizing? yes
Max bitrate? not sure, probably depends on speed of SD card

Use SD cards for video. Microdrives drain the battery more and CF flash is slower for some reason.
