man thats quite a few resets... WM must be pretty unstable.
I've been using palms for the last 10 years, and can probably count the resets software or hardware on ONE HAND.
I'm awaiting my x50v with exited antisapation, but would think Windows Mobile should have reached a point where they are are stable enough for daily use without reseting the device...
( unless it's built on windoez98 and requires memory clearing ) one would hope M$ are better than that!
maybe WM2005 will not require that many resets.
If I have to reset the device ( after installing all programs I need & happy with stability of said apps. ) more than 1 once a week, then there is something wrong with a: the hardware, or b: the OS.
Whenever I try to connect to a WiFi network by pressing the button on the left, then I press Setting (under WLAN Utility), then I press one of the "Unavailable" network, the whole screen will freezed under "Configure Wireless Network". All the icons on the tab bar (top) will not response except Windows icon, and I could not close the WLAN Utility unless I soft reset it.
If I'm doing this 10 times a day, this could mean 10 soft resets a day.
i think that the POLL should have allowed for more granuality... "1 to 10" is just TOO much, IMO
i would say that, in comparison to the early-generation windows devices; i dont usually need 10 resets a day... may once (for sprite), and another during the middle of the day...
during a heavy workday (with lots of handheld operation, PI, TextMaker, PlanMaker, Email, Web Surfing), i surmise 5 would be the MAX for me

Just something that interests me, and i did a search in the forums to see if theres a thread about it, didnt find (maybe im blind )
i find myself performing soft reset about 5-10 times a day, mainly to clear good the memory, as closing programs and killing proccesses doesnt help as reset does, and sometimes reset to make the active sync work :rolling:
i think you still have not reached the "point of perfection" for your Ax...
i would mean is that the perfect mix of apps that are compatible with each other that no conflicts occur, etc.
this is the stage wherein you've reached the point of stability, and the number of daily resets gets reduced day by day as the device becomes more productive...
each one of us has this perfect mix of apps that are not in conflict with each other making the Ax very stable - search through the boards (i remember seeing it once)...
of course, there are cases wherein you absolutely need to have this program that conflicts with the other, then i guess you have to resort except to have multiple soft resets (for me, it was QMail which eats up TOO much memory, and doesnt RELEASE them after an exit - leaving PlanMaker and TextMaker not running... have to soft reset before i use PM and TM)

Actually I use my X50V every day, several times. About once every other day do I need to do a reset. It is more frequent when I am running lots of different programs.

I refuse to click a selection on this poll as it doesn't have any options less than 1. I believe that I reset about once every 1 to 4 days or so. So, it would be more like .25 resets a day.
Before some of you jump all over my statement and think "you must not really use your pda", I need to stand up for myself. I am a mess with the the Axim x50v PDA. If I were to add up all of the time that I use this thing each day it would probably be from 2 hours minimum to 6 maximum. I'm serious, during work time it is my GPS, contact list, calculator, notes and more. During home time, I play emulators most all day including SCUMMVM, pDOSBox, UAE (Amiga Emulators). I also do tons of web browsing when I am away from my PC. I find that the culprit for MOST of my resets is from Wisbar Advanced 2. This program seems so unstable that I try to leave it off most of the time.
I've learned which programs seem to cause my lock ups and have learned to not do the things they don't like.
Hopefully, more of you can echo my, and others before me, sentiments and spread some good feelings and vibes.

Oh and just to rebuttle the Palm OS people. Poppy Cock!
I had a Palm IIIc and I had to reset that thing about twice a week. I was doing the same things that I am doing on my x50v including games and hacks to get the OS to do what I want it to do.

When I had the sbp PocketPlus IE plugin loaded... at least two or three times a day. Without it... well, I've been running MultiIE instead for two or three days with needing to reset at all...
4 in a day - that must be much worse than even the iQue when it was new. Assuming you have A03 firmware and unless your resets are caused by your learning how to program FatFinger PPC I really think you should RMA asap.
Since I stopped experimenting wildly with software and learned to live with the differences between PPC and Palm OS my soft resets have gone down to about once per month, maybe twice.
