Transfer files over home network and Bluetooth network?

Hello,

Is there a program that allows you to freely transfer files from PC to PPC and visa versa over a normal home network and Bluetooth network?

i was going to answer wwith a simple "yes" and leave it as that but...

please define "normal home network", wired/wireless/smoke signals

please define a "bluetooth network" , ive yet to see bluetooth router

though they may exist.

joking aside,

i need more details about the sort of network.

is your pc based on usb 1.1 or 2

and using bluetooth for xfer data must be for a last resort thing , 'cause it's really slow (mite be ok for kb's but not for 1000+kb's)

It is a wired and wireless network, but I am going to nees to transfer thing over the wireless network. There is such a thing as a Bluetooth Network. If you have Bluetooth installed on your Windows PC and you go to your Network Connections window for your normal network connections it says "Bluetooth Network". All I am wanting to do is get a program that allows you to explore files on my PC from my PPC and visa versa. (This is when it is not connected to my computer via USB 2.0) I want to be able to do it through the Bluetooth Network or my home wireless network. Thank you.

P.S. - This is not really a topic for this forum or even this website but...is there a program out there that will allow me to browse, access, and transfer files from my PC on someone elses PC over the internet? LIke a remote access to my PC thing. I am sure there is but I have no idea if you get that with Windows or if it is better to buy a seprate program to do that?

well if its shows up as a network, and once your devices are paired

file explorer should suffice(moving files around)

though personally i would not recommend it, because of slow speed

lacked of range.

you've got a working wifi network, this should be used to moved your files around. imho (in my humble opinion)

to be on the safe side you mite consider the following freeware

it's putty for ppc

the beauty of this application is tht you can ssl tunnel to your pc or viceversa.

making it impervious to %99 of today's hacker. can also be used to ssl to your smtp server for the same reason.

for the pocket pc there's GSfinder a freeware (file explorer)

that can map your network so that from ppc you can moved files on pc.

Jon , if i were you i'd stick with wifi for file transfers/music streaming/multimedia streaming more bandwith ....

pc anywhere of symantec comes to mind, i don't personally recommend this site orb but a lot of people here are using it...

if you have windows XP, you can use the terminal client (not %100 sure about the name) and you can do remote with it.

heres what you should google, putty pocket pc, vnc, gsfinder.

oh yeah i like my stuff freeware and or open source...
