Mad Mediaplayer on X50v not playing MP3

Hi there

I am having horrendous problems playing MP3s on Mediaplayer running on my Dell X50v (WM2003)ROM A02.

Problem 1: I rip my Interpol CD into MP3s using 128Kbps then simply copy these on the SD card in my X50v. Now I can play them I click on them in file explorer but I can't use the library functions of the mediaplayer - when I use the update library feature the mp3 files seem be detected but not added to any playlist. Anytime I invoke a library function such as queue I get "unexpected error" message.

Problem 2: When I delete the Interpol CD from my SD card and instead activesync it accross via Win XP Media Player then things go from bad to worse and now I "The parameter is incorrect" message if I click on any file in the "now playing" directory.

Has anybody else had these problems? If so how did you fix this; assuming you are not all using alternative pocket mp3 players or
iPods!

Regards

Daniel

I did have many problems and I use GSPlayer instead. More functions easier to use and free. Here is a link to the software

I use PocketMusic bundle from PocketMind and it works pretty well, except since updating to ROM A04 it's been acting a bit flaky with WMA files.

I'm not sure if it is just the way I originally encoded the files (quite possible), or a bug produced by the A04/PocketMusic combination.

They offer a free version or a paid version that supports editing of ID3 tags on the device.

It might be worth at least a look.

I personally like pocketmusic due to the skinability of it and larger buttons for car use. GS Player is execellent also. Windows Media player is useless, I haven't even used it on my x50v.

Thanks for all your replies: I am getting the message to ditch pocket Mediaplayer for one of those mentioned. I guess I can still make use of the slick rip and sync functions in win2k Mediaplayer but use an alternative MP3 player on my X50v

cheers

Make sure when you rip with WMP, rip to mp3, and uncheck the "Obtain licenses automatically for protected content" box

what is the affect of leaving the "Obtain licenses automatically for protected content" box checked say for ordinary CDs? As I have installed GSPlayer in my internal storage then activesync my Interpol CD as MP3 files. However, GSPlayer is not playing any of the tracks i.e. the counter at the top doesn't increment and nothing through the headphones when I attempt to select a play a track (open/add file).
AAAAAAAAAAh!
This must be related to the way I have ripped the CD in the first place.

I play mostly MP3s (and some WMAs) with WMP10. I store them on an SD card, and I transfer them with a card reader (my notebook has a built in cardreader). Never had any problems.
