Airport Procedure

I've read in older posts that putting the axim, and memory cards through the carry on x-ray scanner is perfectly fine.

When it comes to axim accesories (such as the palm universal IR keyboard, boxwave versacharger / minisync, dell AC adapter); will any damage occur, when I put it with my carry on bag through the soft x-ray machine?

Is it also safe if I leave it in my checked in baggage, and let it go through their hard x-ray scanner? (Or should I be safe and bring it with my carry on bag)

Are digital cameras safe going through the x-ray scanner? What about Floppy disks?

to be on the safe side - i just have them (my electronic gadgets) go through a different line... what i do is just hand them over to the guards on duty...

Took mine through the airport without incident this summer. I'd suggest keeping your accessories in your carry on. Digital camaras are safe. Digital camcorders might be required to be removed from their case, like laptops. Floppy's, I have no idea.

My PDAs, digital cameras, & misc. acessories have been x-ray countless times without incident. Always place these devices in your carry on luggage or carry them on your person. This is to protect them from physical damage & theft not x-rays

Also keep in mind that procedures vary greatly from airport to airport. Most courtesies like hand inspection are at the descretion of the screeners and you may (I almost always do) have to run it all through the x-ray.

More than once I've been told to leave my stuff on the table and come away for a hand scan. Nobody watches my stuff and if I squawk about it, it just gets worse...

My X5, AC adapter, and thumb key board have been scanned numerous times without a problem. The nice thing about the PPC is that you do not have to remove it from your carry-on bag when going through security like you do with a lap top.

All modern carry-on X-ray systems are film safe. And, since electronic media can withstand much more radiation, they're safe as well.

As for the equipment used for checked baggage, I've read they use high-energy X-ray systems, which could potentially damage film, but electronic media is still safe.
