Sad news for my Axim

It looks like I'll get to have my first experience with Dell technical "support" as my Axim x50v has a little problem.... the headphone jack is too loose.

I've tried using a few different sets of headphones, and all of them exhibit the same problem (very loose connection, and frequent sound dropouts from the right speaker if the cable isn't held in just the right way. It does make a solid "click" sound when plugged in, but that doesn't seem to help things.

As for a question, I guess I should ask "What does Dell do in a case like this? Do I have to live without my Axim for a few weeks while they ship me a new one?" (I just bought it about a month ago)

Since your outside your "21 Day Window of Satisfaction", you will get a Refurb. They will send you the Device, then you send your old one back. They are usually pretty quick about this, within a few Business Days of your complaint.

If you absolutely feel you should get a New Device, you must really press your disatisfaction AND get a sympathetic CSR. If you don't, keep moving up the ladder until you get to someone who can get you a New Device.

Are you sure you're getting the headphone inserted all the way into the jack? Some have quite a bit of resistance to getting the full depth the first couple of times you use them. If you haven't gotten it inserted all the way it will feel loose and cut-out like you describe. ...Just a thought before you drive yourself crazy dealing with Dell Tech "Support".

Well, considering it does make a solid "click" sound, I'm assuming it's in all the way (plus I've tried pressing it in further).

Looks like I will need a replacement. :(
