Anyone anylink to an X50v backup ROM previous to A04?

I want to go back to A03 so I need to go down from A04 to anything (A01,A02,A03) but I didnt do the ROM backup before upgrading (silly me). I have heard somewhere that Rom backups are device specific...Is that true? (maybe some hex editing needed) So please, do anybody has a link to a backup ROM of X50v?Thanks.

I dont think you'll have much luck, and you may fry your device in the process.

I might have the original A03 ROM file from Dell somewhere but its something like 24MB and it might do more harm than good, I'll have a look tonight if I get time. Email or PM me and I'll let you know if I found it.

Can't you just use the firmware update files from Dell?
I must admit, I haven't tried this, but here are the links. Hope it helps.

No, You just can't use the firmware update files because when trying to update it detects you have the last update and wont continue. If you are referring to using them as the backed up ROM....hmmm.. I wonder if renaming them to .RIL? would make it work ..have to try.I think I would need some hex editing... but don't know what to edit.

And Alastair from UK (you are not from Glasgow, are you?I am off for a week so I will email when I am back.Thanks.
