What's the best TV remote control software for the Axim x50v?

Thanks

I use griffin remote. http://www.griffintechnology.com/sof...talremote.html
There should also be a demo of this on your cd that came with your ax.

It has TONS of built in remote codes.

I have Griffin Total Remote and I noticed that the built in devices disapear after a few uses. My version is still evaluation. Is this happening since it is a trial? I have a samsung tv and when i first installed that brand was there. After a day I went to add another and samsung was gone along w/half of the other tv brands. The only way I got them back was to remove the program and reg keys. This keeps happening any sugestions? I would like to get full version but don`t want this to happen. I am running in true vga. I have tried both vid modes and it still happens. Is the device database getting corrupt somehow?

Hmm. That never happend to me before. Maybe you can try to backup - hardreset - and reinstall griffin.
BTW goodfellow, don't buy pdawin's tv remote controller. It doesn't work that well with the x50v.

I've been using Remote Control II and it works great, have even managed to build and 'train' a few custom remote configurations:

I second Remote Control II. The support is great. The remote works great on my 50V. I have customized the remote for three separate rooms of audio/video equipment. I have no regrets at all buying this software. I have set it up to power on the TV/Panasonic DVR/and Sony Amp with the press of a button (created macro). I also have made buttons of pictures of a channel (like the cnn logo)and created a macro so that when I press the picture it sends a signal to the sattelite receiver to go to that channel. The possibilities are endless. It is also VGA compatible and you can download a very nice VGAskin fromtheir website.

Most remote control programs for pocket pc support ccf files. It is cool to have a nice skin. Probably the thing I hate most about griffin is no VGA support. I think I will take a look at the one you are talking about.
Does Remote Control II have lots of built in IR codes??

It does not have lots of IR codes built in, but it does have a utility to import ccf files. I have not tried this, but I have tried using the utility to learn codes from my remote for Panasonic DVD recorder. All you do is tell it what buttons you want to learn from the remote, then press start and the process starts. It starts by asking you to push the particular button on the remote, then after you push that button, you hear a beep, then asks you to press another button, until all the buttons you want learned are learned. It sounds complicated, but it really isn't. Plus the support is great and if you get stuck Frank has been more than willing to help.
