Dear lord, What have I done?!!!!!!!!
So i was having some issues with while trying to tweak my X50v to personal perfection, so i decided to do a hard reset, bring me back to a clean slate and start all over again. Only problem is, when i checked my SD card, all of my video that was stored on it has magically disappeared, or so i came to believe. I then checked my memory usage on the card and there it was, the 200 some odd megabytes of video and backup files (unaccessable mind you,but taking up space)...so my question is can I restore this data and if not, is it possible to wipe the SD card of this corrupted data in order to get my 1gig card back to full capacity?

Not sure if you can recover the data but reformating with your PC or PPC software like Pocket Mechanic will help recover the lost space.

before you wipe out all your stuff, how are you looking at it on the pda? if you are looking at it with some third party app that you haven't re-installed then it should all be visible when you re-install that app. The hard reset should have no bearing on the sd, BIS or cf cards.

Try to find on a PC. I lost files on my sd once in 6 months on my x50. Files were recovered some how, I forgot. However, they didn't show up on the pda only my computer. Somehow I copied them and then formated and put them back on and all was good again. It's never happend again.

I had the same problem with my SD card in my x50v. With mine, I couldn't see the files even on the PC, although space was used up on the card. I downloaded PCI File Recovery, and it recovered the folders in the SD card. For files in the root directory, you might have to rename them to the proper extension to get them working again. Here's the link: http://download.pcinspector.de/pci_filerecovery.exe
And here's the info page for the program. It's freeware.

If these files still claim space on the card they are still there. Just the "table of contents" is corrupted. If you did not mess with the card e.g. try to write to it or delete any visible files from it there is a good chance that a recovery tool such as the one suggested by aaron33 succeeds. The reason is that a file is logically but not physically deleted from FAT file systems. The deleted space is marked as free but remains intact until some other file is written over it. So you may be able to recover the files - although probably not under the original file names. Copy any recoverable file to the PC - your second post in this thread implies that you have a card reader. Having recovered what can be recovered, and backed up the rest, format the card. It won't be safe to use until it is formatted, preferably in the card reader.
For the records: an intentional hard reset should be preceded by a full backup and executed with the memory cards removed.

Do you have the view settings on your PC setup to show hidden and system files? See if that makes a difference.
