How to copy playlists to WMP 10?

This is more of a Windows Mobile question... but when I try to copy a playlist's worth of songs to my Axim (specifically, my CF card), Windows Media Player copies all the songs--but not the playlist itself? What am I doing wrong? I look under My Playlists and there's nothing there.

FWIW, I also have the same problem when copying playlists from Yahoo Music Engine. I cannot for the life of me understand why these two programs don't copy over the playlists. That's the whole point!

Try this....

I was having the same issue and FINALLY figured it out! Adding a playlist to the synch list will only copy the songs. Instead, what you need to do is.

1. Make sure your Axim is not connected to the PC and Windows Media Player is closed on the desktop
2. Open Windows Media Player
3. Once Media Player is open, connect the Axim to the PC
4. Media player will now pop open a box to set up a synch. Once you go throught the prompts, you should be all set.

On the synch tab of Media Player, there is a button to the right of start synch that will say "set up synch" or if it has already been set up, "edit synch". From there, you can select playlists to synchronize with your device!

Microsoft REALLY needs to document this better!

One other thing to note is that Media Player doesn't let you create playlists on your PPC, just sync existing playlists from your PC.

But you can overcome this with a great freeware utility from Jonathan Misurda, PlaylistEditor. Here are the details:

I wonder if this would work with Yahoo Music Engine as well...?
