QUESTION: leftover registry/dlls --> effect on performance/stability?
Are there any adverse effects on PERFORMANCE, device STABILITY, etc., whenever there are LEFT-OVER DLLs, and/or REGISTRY entries?

it is just that when i install a software, and say some months down the road, i found it to be a little lacking; i uninstall it... then i use a third-party app to clean "dead registries, etc."

however, no matter how robust these third-party apps are - i am quite sure there are still lots not considered (like DLLs)... thus, making my system a bit "dirty"

could there be any adverse effects on PERFORMANCE, device STABILITY, etc. when they are NOT taken out?

---

OR, could it be that im just thinking TOO much here - getting used to that "Windows feeling"

thanks, and regards

when you clean out your pc, do you leave your recycling bin unemptied night after night? ok, nto a good example but, as a general rule you probably don't wanna leave things left over on your system. If its things in the main memory that is a concern since memory , at this stage (come on wm 2005!) is at a premium. Performance and Stabilitiy wise, if you try to apply an updated version of the program say, in your BIS and you still have remnants that will cause a problem also. Just get accusomed to registry editing and you'll have a squeaky clean axim.

registry editing to clean out my Ax is not a problem... since compared to desktop Windows, the PPC's registry is not that BIG. i can basically use various combinations of words that make out the program (software name, developer name, etc.), and i can "hunt" them down

i am more worried about the leftover DLLs - since i they really know what is being installed... well, unless there is a way to find out, though...
