Is your X50V order "delayed"?

I got a similar delay msg from Dell when I ordered mine a couple weeks ago but the unit ended shipping on the original promised date. Go figure.

That's what I am hoping as well... All my laptop and desktop orders were delivered even before their estimated ship date. We'll see if that will be true this time too. Seems like they are in short of X50V units

I just got the same message. It's angering me because I had to return my current Axim so that I could get the $262 deal. Now, because of Dell I will be out of an Axim for about 3 weeks. I'm not sure I can do that.

I ordered my X50v + the $229 Bluetooth on July 22nd.... with the understanding that the PDA would ship the 29th, and the GPS would ship the 4th of August. I received my GPS that following Monday (the 25th) and received my PDA on Wednesday the 27th. Couldn't believe it. :cheers:

I think I got lucky. it sounds like alot of people are having delays. I will say this though, dont get too frustrated, it's well worth the wait. This thing is awesome! :approve:

Yep, I called and after 20 minutes got a english speaking human that stated that they ran out of primary batteries. The individual stated that NO X50 will ship until August 19th.

I ordered X50v on 7/23 at 17:30 CDT and was given an estimated ship date of 7/26. My device actually shipped on early 7/25 and arrived yesterday.

I must have just missed the delays...

Sheesh, mine was ordered early or the middle of last week and they said it was delayed and wouldn't ship until 29 July. :realmad:

Well, the deal was included the secondary battery with. And now Dell has a battery shortage issue in stock, it kinna of strange. I ordered mine with usb syn cable for extra charge. I hope they will release my order within a week so that I can return my x30 when I purchased before x50v deal.

Delayed as well, for the bare-bones $418 model. The delay ruined my shipping plans so I sent an email to dell to change the shipping address... got offered a free upgrade to next day shipping (when it gets produced), and a $50 concession coupon :approve:.

Well at least you guys got in on the coupons. Looks like I just missed out on those from yesterday. Now to get everything I want it will be $600+ instead of $480... Sigh.. Guess I'll wait on it until I see another great coupon. Hopefully it will come before the end of August.

I ordered two, each, x50v 624 mhz w/ 3yr warranty & 3 yr CompleteCare on 7/25 and they arrived yesterday (7/27), but then again, they were shipped from Nashville and I live approx. 14 miles from Dell's Nashville offices. :cheers:

I ordered a x30H about 2 weeks ago and it arrived the same day as the x50v's...the x30H was shipped from Patrick, Nevada...I understand they have an office or warehouse there.

I ordered mine on July 27th, with est shipping date the 29th. Well, its the 22nd, 2:22 AM (woah, just realized those are a lot of two's), and the status site still says post-production.. So I'm starting to question whether or not I'll actually get it shipped today.

Himmm... no wonder everything is delayed. A second battery was included in the deal package, which makes it 2X more batteries for them to ship.

Just went to DELL's site and checked the Axim. When customizing, this is what it says next to 1100mAh Secondary Battery: "May delay your Axim X50v 624 MHz ship date". In the "bundled" deals, the additional battery is now only "2200mAh Secondary Battery". More signs for a battery shortage

If you click on that "May delay your Axim X50v 624 MHz ship date" link, this is what you get:

Item: 1100mAh Secondary Battery for Dell Axim X50 Handheld
Delay Time: 13 days

Other items in Additional Battery: 2200mAh Secondary Battery for Dell Axim X50 Handheld

Ohhhh.... and the "delay time" excludes weekends!!!

I ordered my X50V + GPS on Tuesday (7/26). The estimated ship date for the X50V was 7/28, and for the GPS was 8/10. Today I received an e-mail from DELL saying that the order will not be shipped until 8/19
I was just wondering if this is a general delay (suplies, etc) or has something to do with ordering as a bundle.
Could anyone, who has placed an order over the last few days, comment if they also received a delay notice? Regardless of the answer being yes or no, could you also mention if it was an order for ONLY X50V or a bundle with GPS.

Usually dell is a custom made to order people so it may take a while for all their parts to come in. I agree with the others here, so it may be a while. Just be patient!

Dell practices a "Worst Case Scenario" shipping method. It's a federal crime to ship after a quoted ship date. I know it seems far fetched but it's true.

Dell covers their bases by giving you the worst case scenario on when it will be shipped. That's why you see ppl saying "They said it wouldn't ship until the 9th, but it shipped on the 3rd."

Had the same issue as you all. Dell said it my X50v wouldn't ship until the 19th of August. I'd seen this delay before and shook it off. Low and behold, I just checked their site and they said my unit would ship between August 2 and August 5.
I ordered on the 27th of July, and my bet is they will ship on August 2.
I've seen this exact thing happen plenty of times. Dell seems to email you with a worst case scenerio, but it always comes shipped earlier.

That's coming from a person that has wanted an Axim since January--but I finally found the right deal.
