Is your X50V order "delayed"?

Hey Guys,

If you are waiting on your pda (8/19), I suggest you get in touch with dell. I emailed them today, and they upgraded my order to overnight delivery, and gave me a $75.00 concession. Just email them, express your disappointment or whatever it is that concerns you and they will probably give you some "Quan", Remember Jerry Mcguire.

Anyway it worked for me, so you might aswell just try.

I ordered mine, just the x50v - nothing else, on July 24. It was shipped on the 25th and I got it on the 26th.

Also, kind of funny, someone mentioned Dell addressing them as Mr. Cole when that's not their name. Well, my last name is Cole, and I ordered it in my husband's name...

I only got a $35 concession with free overnight shipping, though they did give me a $50 concession coupon when I pointed out that they removed my $35 coupon from my original order. I would rather the $75 instead of the $35 and $50....but I order enough from them that it doesn't matter.

Anyone track their memory deals? I am thinking of getting a 1 gig SD card from them. (is that big enough for mapping software for a GPS? I'll have a 256mb CF card also). Currently they have a 1gig SD's for ~$75.

I ordered on the 27th and have since gotten the aug 19th shipping date. If I check on my order status, it still says that "estimated" ship date is between 8/2-8/5. Count on it being delayed.

Of note, I originally placed an order without the $35 ebay coupon. After I found out about it, I used their chat line and they cancelled the order for me. Then, I reordered it with the coupon. Unfortunately, my bank account was charged for both transactions. So, I called Dell support, and they told me that they don't do the actual billing and would have to send a form to the billing company to retract my charge. It has been two days and I still don't have the money back in my account. What if I hadn't called Dell? Would they still have sent the form?
I'm crossing my fingers that the money will be returned early next week.

I'm really looking forward to the X50V, though. It's been almost two years since I had a PPC.

That's why you should never use a debit card as if it were a credit card. Some banks are stricter than others, but the laws that protect you in an errant charge by the credit card company do not apply to banks. Keep checking with your bank and protesting to them that they should put the money back.

I did the same yesterday night. e-mail works much better for this kind of approach, rather than using the online chat (tried that twice with no luck).

After a few e-mails back and forth (very very nice, nothing nasty), the shipment is now upgraded to overnight and a $75 coupon will be e-mailed to me once the order is shipped. Not bad...

Certainly makes the waiting for the X50V much easier

I, too, had the august-19-ship-of-death, and I, too, ordered on the 26th. However, I checked my status this morning and it SHIPPED! It will arrive tomorrow (fingers crossed), which is when it was originally meant to arrive. HURRAY! (On a more somber note, I wish I had complained to dell...a 75 dollar gift card AND an Axim on time? Ahh well...I'm just happy it's going to make to my house before the end of August)

ok after several emails to CS, expressing my disappointment with the delay and the polite but very generic responses to my queries, and no explaination as to why my order would be delayed, CS gave me overnight shipping and $100 concession coupon. This redeemed them with me, but its a shame that you have to log several "complaints" before they offer you anything for the inconvenience. But all in all as I said, CS has thus far redeemed themselves with me. Now, we'll see if my stuff actually arrives, hahaha

Heck, I was not planing to order one until October (when the new OS will be released); after seeing the coupon deals and the fact that the new OS CD will be provided for free in October, I jumped on it :)

I ordered number of things from DELL before. Their "estimated" days are off most of the time. I guess we'll just wait.....

Is that deal still available?

Just got off the phone with sales modifications department this afternoon.
They were able to replace my order with the 2200mAh battery instead of the 1100mAh battery for an extra $30 and now the Axim ships on the 3rd instead of the 18th....oh yeah!
