There is no way to use your axim to control a monitor. It lacks a video processor to do so. But there may be a way that some third party software can pull your axim screen to your computer. I don't know of any, but someone here might.

Since the X50 (non V) does not have VGA out, you need to get some hardware which will add this function. Take a look at the Lifeview FlyPresenter.

I have no idea how fast it would be, but take a look at this review for some opinions.

I have a x50v...are you implying there is a vgs out? where? Do I need an adapter? Or did you mean a third party program?

Yes, the X50v has VGA out. All you need is the cable. You can find it here:

http://pc-mobile.net/ax50.htm

Or from Dell (called the presentation bundle).

As for the X50, you can also try:

Have a look at www.dotpocket.com
That utility gives you a huge virtual desktop on your PC screen via the sync cable. I've used it and it's nice, but costs $.
On the other hand, you can use the Micro$oft 'free' remote display utilty. I forget the name but someone here can probably tell you what it is.

Are there actually any review sites that have the x50v's video out review, with pictures or anything? I'm very curious to how this would work, and how it would display on the monitor

Yes, I have the cable and it's great. I can get 1024x768 on the monitor and it looks crisp. That is with the nyditot software. Here's where to get it:
