Do CF/SD card speeds matter?

Hi-
Bought an ax x50v w/ the Dell BT GPS recently.
if I store maps & apps on the CF/SD, do the write/read speeds really make a huge difference (mainly for the GPS)?
Thanks.

It kind of depends on the detail of the map. If the map is really detailed and you use your GPS often, you may want to spring for the high speed card. In regular use, the read/write speeds don't make a whole lot of difference. Usually a regular speed memory card will do just fine.

The SD/CF slots in PPCs are not capable of use the bandwidth capability of a standard card, so you will not notice a difference using a high speed card. They will only come in handy if you will also be using one in a digital camera or will be transfering a lot of data via a card reader.
