Is 'In Production' to 'Shipping' possible on a sunday - Page 3

oh boy.... i re-ordered it on 27th july morning...estimated delivery on 29july...delay notification 19 aug...looks like i will be going to europe without my newborn... i am flying middle of next week.. what to do with my big lot of accessories.. mmmmmmmm.....nooooo i want my axim b4 i leave..oh god ! do something...

I feel for you. If I were you I would call them and explain your "special circumstances" re: your trip. It sure couldn't hurt to try. Maybe you'll find a sympathetic (sp?) ear. Offer to pay for express shipping if you have to. Good luck, let me know how it turns out and have a safe trip. martimom :love:

thanks for ur concerns... u know i made several email /calls/ chats etc rising my concern.landed only on coupons..i already have next day shipping and they said its kept on top priority at warehouse..i don't whats going to happen...Is there any direct number available in US to call somebody who has powers and make decision to ship it immediately based on the special circumstance i am in.. any clues...i asked csr they said they are only people who can do that...hhahahaah

another day gone...same in production...its 4.56pm ET..here..may be nothing going to happen today..

Still haven't got yours. I am so excited I got mine, it is not even funny. I ordered on the 26th at around 5-6 p.m. central time. I got it today 8-8. Not bad. Yeah right. And I only got a miserable $75.00 concesion, that is a lot more than I expected.

Great! Enjoy your new toy. Looks like they are catching up with the order load.
I dont think I have a right to complain after all they have done to make the process "easier". In fact, they can keep it for another two weeks if they want; at the end, I am practically getting my X50v + GPS for free (after all the discounts and the money I made from my old CLIE). Besides, the acessories were free as well...
Waiting patiently without bothering anyone :)

I called today to check up on the status of my order and was told it was "shipped out of the warehouse" and "sent to purlator" today and I should receive it really soon, a day or so. I just ordered it on Friday! I'll keep you posted, I am in Canada by the way. martimom.

I ordered mine on the 7/27. It still shows it as 'In Production', for 8/19. Strange thing is though, when I click the link for 'Production" it has shown it in the 'Boxing' phase for 3 days now, well 5 days if you count the weekend. I did write dell, and they did give me a concession coupon for the long wait. But doesnt it seem a long time for it to be in the 'Boxing phase', how long does it take to box a small pda ;). Do you guys think I should write them again and ask?

There is no "production" for this particular item, considering that the "secondary battery" is the reason for the delay. I dont think there is any difference between "in production" and "boxing". Just my guess... By the same token, my order for the media card reader also says "in production". That item is also delayed and it's not even DELL branded (to show you what that in production means).

They sent me an e-mail today and told me that it should be "out of their warehouse" before 8/15 for sure. As I mentioend before, I dont mind the wait as long as I have it sometime this month :)

Tenderidol, hope you get yours soon! I wouldn't mind the wait so much but in similar situation with Ravi, going out of town, now for quite as long tho... Ordered the Axim/GPS package for the trip.... hope it makes it here prior to my departure. And of course I have other uses for the PDA itself but the GPS portion of it was basically for the trip (driving through several states with my friend and we both have very little sense of direction, in other words we both get lost a lot! haha)

Keeping my fingers crossed for us all!

just so you know ---- and possibly drive everyone crazy with anticipation .......... I have placed about 12 different orders from Dell in the past year. I have had things delivered to my doorstep that were still showing as "in production". I have seen things update to shipped .... and when I got home the box was on my doorstep.
Point is, the website definitely does not update in real-time. Also FYI, if you are ordering multiple products and have an abnormally long delay or get a delay notification ---- CALL THEM and find out what EXACTLY is causing the delay ..... it is almost always an accessory like a case or card reader etc. ----- if you insist - they can break the order up and send the parts that are ready (which they do soemtimes anyway ... but no ryhme or reason to it)

sorry you are having to wait - but since there is no Dell store ...... we all had to wait and wait and wait and wait

guys....i talked lot of phone and chat....infact one call for almost 80mins...he said he has placed a top priority and informed warehouse dept...infact he said yday that today it will get shipped...but still same status...19/8...seems now they will email to notification dept to find out the status..i donnow what to do..same thing with regard to card reader...it states at 15/8...may be that one i can change address to my friends id...but not pda...infact i will be getting my iguidance europe tomorrow...i thought of practising my GPS/PDA combo here in US..but lets wait and c how my fate line is travelling..but one thing is sure..this is definetly not the end of life.. :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad: :realmad:

26th around 8 PM (PDT) and still waiting.
Among all of us, who are still waiting, your situation is the most urgent one... I have another PDA at the moment. If I could, I would swap my spot with you in the waiting list. Of course you'll have to bring me back some MINI parts that are not sold in the US
