Is 'In Production' to 'Shipping' possible on a sunday

i ordered mine on friday and it arrived today via purlator, i'm in canada if that makes a difference but it did come from the u.s. i got everything i ordered, axim x50v, case, 1gig memory card. damn fast. happy camper. good luck, martimom

...it has shown it in the 'Boxing' phase for 3 days now, well 5 days if you count the weekend. I did write dell, and they did give me a concession coupon for the long wait. But doesnt it seem a long time for it to be in the 'Boxing phase', how long does it take to box a small pda ;). Do you guys think I should write them again and ask?

hahaaaa.... Mine also moved to the "boxing" stage in the process. I think it's just a game that they play to give us a hope that something is happening on their side, while the delay is caused by not being able to "drop" a second battery into an already sealed unit (including the primary battery) :)

at least you are in boxing :) , mine hasn't moved from the initial "in production" Tried to get a realistic ship date through customer care as I will also be going out of town next week (hopefully using the GPS) but at this point not holding my breath. The delay notice showed 8/16 ship if I get it by the 17th (haha) it will be close and if everything works and I can work the GPS I should be ok.

The delay e-mail shows 8/19 for mine; however, the customer rep -repeatedly- assured me that it will be shipped on or before 8/15. We'll see...
By the way, I dont think it makes any difference moving through the steps of building, testing, etc unless it is a customized laptop or desktop order.

My x50v order (7/27) made the same move this morning from "in production" through "Kitting, Build, Testing." It's time for boxing--but now that the batteries may be in, I figure Dell just realized that they are also out of boxes and will have to send someone out in search of some! How long do you figure that will take???

i wondered about that in production phase, I thought that the handhelds are made and not really "built" like a customized computer or laptop

Recently, I ordered a 2gb cf card. I was checking the status when I noticed that my status on my x50v changed (I ordered on the 27th). My x50v is scheduled for delivery on Fri. Also, I was told by CS that I would get next day shipping. That is what I got because UPS says that it is on schedule for tomorrow. Incidentally, ground shipping can be overnight or next day delivery.
It sucks if you are going away and can't get your pda. However, if you are staying put, chances are good that your delivery is imminent because many July orders are now being shipped.

Wonder what the cutoff is for shipping..6pm cst? or later. I was told it would be shipped today, but my order says 12th...oh well guess i'll be going another weekend without it.

Though my unit still shows "in production" on Dell's website, clicking on that "in production" link now brings up a "shipping status" screen that shows the unit as "in transit." So maybe mine has finally headed out the tomorrow. There's hope!
