Speculation - WM2005 Softkeys and the X50

I've read 6 or 7 articles about how great softkeys are going to be and how easy they'll be to program and how wonderful it will be to bring the world of the smartphone closer to the Pocket PC. I know it's early but does anyone think it's a good idea to replace the menu bar with these softkeys? I know it's early but I think they look terrible and would rather have the menubar.

For anyone who doesn't know, softkeys are 2 large buttons that will appear at the bottom of the screen and will be used to access the two most used commands for each application.
