Disappearing SIP problems

New x50v user here and I'm having a really frustrating
problem with disappearing SIP programs.

Looks like there are hints here and there that this is a well
understood problem, but have not been able to find anything
substantial.

I have the latest releases of Calligrapher,
Fitaly, Speedscript, Ripboard, Resco Keyboard Pro. The only
one that works consistently is Resco (looks nice but I don't like QWERTY and don't have the time to make a Fitaly layout)

If I take away all plugins, turn off wireless and do a soft reset, almost all of them will show up. But as soon as I try to do anything really useful, they seem to go away.

By "Go away" I mean that the SIP still shows up in the list, but
refuses to load. This seems to be equally problematic in QVGA or true VGA mode (via SE_VGA or OZ_VGA).

Can anybody direct me to some previous discusssion and/or wisdom on this matter?

I did a hard reset last night and started loading programs again. This time loaded no plugins (pocketbreeze, contactbreeze, pocketweather or spb plus 3.0).

Still the same problem, neither Ripboard, Calligrapher, or Fitaly
will work consistently. Here's a list of everything I have installed:

Sprite Backup (BIS) no plugins

Anything look suspect? These are all the latest versions I can

Have you tried the CalliGrapher Beta ? I have this installed and it works fine. It's installed in BIS and doesn't seem to have any problems.

Unfortunately I don't use Fitaly or Ripboard so I don't know if they are the cause of any problems.

I have Tengo and Access Panel 4. Tengo works if I change it to the default, but Access Panel never comes up from the selection unless I soft-reset and take stuff off my Today Screen! What a hassle.

I am also suffering from the same thing. I have Calligrapher 7.5 installed; however, when Pocketbreeze is loaded to the Today screen, Calligrapher does not come up (even though it is selected as the "default" input method). Of course, un-checking Pocketbreeze in the Today settings makes Calligrapher load again. I don’t think Calligrapher 8 will help for this situation, because apparently the problem is on the OS implementation based on this thread:

I REALLY like Calligrapher and use it a lot. It is very unfortunate that I wont be able to use SIPs along with Calligrapher (or additional alternative SIPs/Keyboards in richfiddler11’s case)
