what's the consensus on installation locations?

BIS, CF, SD, internal?

I am getting ready to "load" my X50v, and would like to ask the guru for an opinion on this subject.
- Are there any differences in terms of speed, functionality, etc depending on where the applications are installed?
- Is is possible to "move" a program from one location to another after it is installed?
- For the applications that are on the cards, are they simply being "transferred" to the main memory while using that app?

Thanks!

I install everything on my SD card except:
Programs which I use very regularly in BiS (basically I ask myself: if I lose my SD card, will I miss this program, so Resco Explorer = yes, Simcity 2000 = no, it can wait).
I only install into main memory those programs which absolutely require it and very few do. I think Today plugins need to be, although well behaved ones like PocketBreeze will install all it can to where you specify and only put the bare necessities in the Program Storage.

Main memory is fastest, I think a good CF or SD card is faster than BiS but I'm not sure. There is no difference in functionality except some programs that need to be in Main Memory. Moving isn't easy as there could be registry entries that expect the program to be in it's original place, I find it's handiest to just uninstall/reinstall. Programs on card stay on the card, but any memory they use while running is of course stored in the main Program Memory.

I've installed all my programs on an SD card. No problems so far.

I try to keep most small apps and games on BIS. I only put large games or apps 4mb> on my cf card.

Games and Such go to 128 Meg SD Card. Apps go to Main Memory (if importance calls for it) else it too will go onto a 128 meg card. My media files are stored on a 512 SD card and a 256 meg CF card. As of now, the speed of BIS outweights its usefullness (untill win mobile 2k5 that is) so i tend to stay away.
