Firewall? Anti-virus? Anti-spyware? Newbie!

Hi ya'll:
I've a question... it may sound stupid for 98% of you guys, but I just get an Axim; my first PDA, n' I'm on zero.

The question: I'm paranoid on win; I've firewall, anti-virus, spyware, anonymous browsing tools, etc. Do I need these on PPC? If the answer is yes can you give me some names of good ones?

Thanks for your patience n' feedback. Me.

At the moment ppc devices aren't clever enough to fall victim to most of that stuff. there are a couple of theoretical viruses but non in the wild. and non that a hard reset won't instantly wipe out.

I'd make sure any pc you swap data with has av thouqh

Wow! , no viruses, Trojans, spyware n' more scamware, I'm guessing than my Inspiron will be jealous once I get my x50v on 3 more days.

I'm going to enjoy browsing the web without ID theft, privacy invasion, hackers intrusions n' any other big worries. N' if for some reason something go wrong hard reset will come handy.

I'm very concern for my privacy, especially when browsing... if I understood ok, not anymore (looks like).

Welcome to aximsite, cr4no. I wouldn't worry about it that much. Some secured webpages are not browsed by your ppc anyway (e.g. homebanking perhaps). If ppc gets more popular bad boys who make viruses will be interested in I suppose. My desktop has everything that I need to secure my info as well as my computer, but I have none on my ppc other than a small password.

always a hard reset away from being sent away. Do make backups or your PPC once you get it the way you like so you don't have to re-install everything if you do have a problem in the future.
