Pocket Outlook AVI Attachment Problems

First let me say what a great community! I have been lurking for weeks and have learned a ton! This forum is so good Dell should consider providing a link from their help pages!

I love my Axim. Before my Axim I had a Palm 515 and a Handspring Deluxe. I still think the Palm OS is great from a productivity/time management perspective, but I am enjoying all the "extras" of WM2003SE. However I have one issue that I can not figure out.

My office uses MS Exchange for e-mail, so to get my e-mail on the PDA when away from my desk (not syncing) I have an IMAP account set up. Everything downloads fine. At first I was not able to read any attachments, then I saw a post here about changing the amount of info that is downloaded, now I can read normal attachments. However my voice mail sends an e-mail to my account with an AVI attachment (Cisco system). I can see the attachment, but I get a message "The content of this message is in a format that can not be displayed." So I thought perhaps it was the media player. So I downloaded TCPMP. Still doesn't work.

But I can log into the web client and download the file, save it to my SD and play it from there using TCPMP. So now I am confused. It is not a file the PDA can't play, but a file Outlook Mobile won't handle. I can't even "Save As" from in Outlook Mobile.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Paul

Did you associate .avi files with TCPMP? And are you using version 0.66e?

I've never actually received an .avi attachment but picard_beta added some more audio and video codecs in his latest version. Do you have the Speex (audio) plugin?

Thanks for the suggestions, I have associated the file with WAV. In fact in outlook it shows TCPMP as the icon...the version of TCPMP is 0.66

Still not working...

Wow, this is an active forum. Posts move quickly to the back of the line.

Just thought I would try to bring this one forward in case anyone else has an idea. Bobby (Don't Panic) had some great suggestions, but they did not clear up the problem.

Does anyone else use a different e-mail client? Perhaps changing the client will work?

Does anyone else have the Cisco VoIP and have voice mail sent to their e-mail? Do the attachments open for you?

Thanks for all your help.....now if I could just decide between SPB and iLauncher ;-)
