Sad story with a silver lining

Back in December of 2001, I became a first time PPC owner with a Axim Advanced X5. It was a godsend as it made an excellent book reader while feeding our first child... at 2am, 5am, 7am, etc. I read many a book on that puppy, about 1 a week for the last almost 4 years. Untill two weeks ago. The poor X5 fell from a counter top to the floor, cracking the digitizer. I have never been more bummed, as we now have another newborn (with lots more feedings at 2am, 5am, 7am). I couldn't see sprining for a new display at 150$, and there are no digitizers available from pdasmart.

So, I started looking into the new Axims, which was really kind of futile since I couldn't afford to blow the cash on buying a new PPC. Luckily, my Mother and Mother-in-Law decided to chip and send me an early Christmas present. My new x50v came by UPS yesterday. My GOD but is this thing pretty. uBook is so much better looking. Heck, EVERYTHING is much better looking. And being able to sync via wireless, mmmm mmm good. Now if only I could spring for a BT GPS and a 2200 NIMh battery

Thanks ya'll. I just never used the X5 for much more than reading books (no wifi, D-pad was usless for games) so I didn't contribute much since I registed two years ago. Since the the x50v has much greater potential, I'll be a lot more regular here.

I also recently upgraded from a much older ppc to the x50v and let me tell you, I'm enjoying every minute of it. I was very happy with my old unit but I had no idea what I was missing. They've really come a long way. Now I'm happy my old ppc died.
Oh! I guess that sounded harsh but you all know what I mean.
Anyway, welcome. I have to warn you...this site will consume the better part of your life for the next few weeks as there is sooo much info here. Enjoy!
