Actually I hadn't thought of that...an even cheaper drink to spill all over the expensive electronics when some brat comes blasting through the place from or to the playground.

In the "pay for WiFi" McDonalds, I've had good luck in asking the manager for a freebie coupon "to try it out." They often have coupons that let you log on for free for an hour. I wouldn't try this at the same McDonalds too often. We also have free WiFi at our local Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins (suburban Chicago), but Panera is all over the place.

No matter where I try to log on, I sometimes have the "Page you are looking for cannot be found" problem. I've had good luck with the Windows>Welcome.exe fix.

I would open my WifI routerfor PDA use if I could specifically set it for that and no other wireless connections. But... we don't have the technology.

Too many kids here wanting to game via wifi.
Someone around here has the SSID of "linksys" and was easliy connected to. Though his signal is weak from my house. I wonder how bad of net lag he has cause of it. :lol

I'm a little hazy on this good/bad stuff. What exactly is bad?

Not only these free wifi spots mentioned but many motels and hotels offer it free also. Just pull into their parking lot close to the front door and bang your on line. Some that come to mind are Holiday Inn and Microtel, but there are lots of others.

Hmmmm... That device to device doesn't look right to me.
