I figured that was a bit of a longshot. I have heard of Mobile Phone tools but not sure if it's worth it. I'd have to get the cable for my computer, thought if I could do it wirelessly from my X50 it'd be great.
Am I missing something here? You need Mobile Phone Tools to sync data from a Moto phone with a Pocket PC?
I don't need any software to sync my Sony Ericsson T610 with my PDA via Bluetooth -- I just pair the devices, and then I can send data back and forth easily.
to get the contacts from your moto to a ppc is painstaking
its much easier to just sync the moto with mobile phone tools, which will link with outlook. Then sync your contacts on your pocket pc and bam. If your RAZR didn't come with a data cable, then I think you got screwed. Did you get it from Cingular or Tmobile?

Before my V3 Razr, I was using the T610. With the T610, I had the option of sending the whole phone book, while V3 doesn't have that.
However, I like the Mobile Phone Tools that come bundled with the V3. It makes the phone book management very much easier and faster. I can move, copy, delete and create entries easily.
You can do a send all, but the V3 will prompt for you to accept each entries as they are sent. This will cause some kind of time-out on the PPC.
Use the Mobile Phone Tools that comes with the V3. It is much easier that way.
My V3 was from Best Buy and cost only $70. The only thing that come with it was a home charger.
I've looked at getting mobile phone tools. I'll have to buy the cable also. It looks to me like there's no way to put mobile phone tools on the PPC - just the PC. Is that correct?
If you get a Bluetooth dongle on your PC, you won't need a cable. That would make more sense if you have other BT devices you'd like to connect. And you are correct, Mobile Phone Tools is only for the PC.
Wow! Quite pricey for a PPC app, but it looks quite good. :)
If you require more syncing and transfer functions, the desktop version would be more appropriate, but if transferrring contacts is all you need, the mobile version should be fine.
I would get Mobile Phone Tools for the PC instead of the PPC. This way you can use outlook as the 'middle' piece. MPT for the PC also provides a bunch of additional tools for the RAZR to be able to work with ring tones, SMS etc...
You can use Bluetooth fot the RAZR, however the cable offers the advantage of charging the phone while it is connected. If you like to tinker, you may find the cable to be more useful. Check out the site www.motomodders.com for all kinds of tinkering stuff. The RAZR is very cusromizable as well.
As for the cable you dont need anything fancy. It is a standard USB to mini-USB cable. The cable that came with my Blackberry, RAZR and portable hard drive are all interchangeable.

Quite pricey?! That's an understatement! They must be :rolling:
