Putting the x50v in its cradle disables functions in Outlook 2003.

Everytime I put the axim in the cradle Outlook just turns into a worthless piece of crap. I can't send a new message or edit a note, task or calendar item. What the hell?

There are no 'unresolved items' or anything like that. The axim and Outlook even sync up correctly.

Anyone have any idea whatsoever what is going on here? I like to be able to edit appointments and things while the axim rests in its cradle? Is this asking for too much?

Do you have Outlook open before you cradle the Axim?

I know I have to open Outlook first, then cradle my Axim ... if I don't none of the Norton Anti-Spam plug-ins to Outlook will load.

What version of Outlook are you using?

Ahhhhh, it seems you are on to something.

If I ctrl-alt-delete and close Outlook in the task manager, and then fire it up again, Outlook comes up fine with no problems. SO, for me at least, the set up works when the Axim is cradled, and THEN you fire up Outlook. I tried doing it the other way around to no avail, but I will keep experimenting with this.

Thanks for your help.

ActiveSync & Norton AntiSpam

Just had the same issue myself. From www.symantec.com web site, support, etc. enter SPAM OUTLOOK in the search field. You will be given a very complete analysis of the issue. Namely, Outlook looses its Norton Spam icons when the Axim (they say PDA so guess it could be any handheld)is craddled and ActiveSync is functional.
The bottom line they suggest is: 1 - close Outlook, 2 - Turn off Axim, 3 - start Outlook. Voilą, there are the Norton Outlook icons and things seem to function nicely.
Then, turn on or decraddle & recraddle the Axim.
Note, if you close Outlook and then turn it on again, you will have no icons and will have to start over again.

I haven't found a better solution yet.
