Just a quick question. I have an x50(non-v) and i was wondering if all this talk means that qvga will no longer be supported in morphgear or something? Or can this device run mobile directx stuff as well?

yep I have an x50v now. that is why I am asking. what does this gapi thing do? people are talking about a gx.dll from microsoft. is this tweak tweaking that gx.dll file? does that gx.dll comes with the default OS? do I have to download and install it as well? I installed the tweak but I dont see a single
difference. Do I have to run some graphics intensive game to see a difference?

Hi,
1/ which between gapi 1.2 or gapi 2.0 is the faster ?
2/ Is Tomtom 5 compatible with gapi 2.0 because it isn't with gapi 1.2 ?
3/ what are the big differences between gapi 1.2 and gapi 2.0?

*dramatic sigh* I tried finding the info, but I can't seem to work out if someone with a x51v would have any use for this tweak? Will it even work at all? You guys keep talking about the x50's, and as far as I know the x51v has a gapi too soooo..

I tried the GAPI tweak on my x51v and it didn't work so I uninstalled it. I had problems with getting it to install and uninstall properly and cleanly even so basically it didn't work at all for me. I tried to use it with pocket nester.

emulamer? da1writer? seems the current version of the GAPI tweak simply doesn't work, however is it even necessary for x51v's? Any chance it will happen?

Well I'll tell you what, when Emulamer comes on again on my instant messenger I'll talk to him about it. I'm sure he's busy now adays, so we'll see if he'll even have a chance to talk abit. Emulamer was thinking about rebuilding a new version of the gapi tweak but we all have "Real Life" to worry about so we shall see what we can do. I'll post what we talked about in a few days or maybe he will ;)!

Not trying to be pushy or anything, just wondering if you ever got a hold of him and if a new gapi might be in the works. If its not I can understand, just anxious to get tactics on my pda :)

Yeah I am getting very tired of my x51v playing the 320x200 games so poorly. On PDAs 2 years old and a quarter the speed they run at full framerate but on my new Axim 624mhz they run dog slow. Everyone talks about VGA hacks but I almost wished there was a QVGA hack for the x51v to convert it to QVGA (at least temporarily).

on the X51v: i've tried it... absolutely no diference, it crashes morphgear unless i do the aforementioned ResHack on MG to put it into QVGA mode, and then all i get is sound...

it is worth mentioning though that after doing the reshack, i can use original GAPI in MG (but not the tweak, the built in one), which raises the framerate from 25 in SMS to about 35, and makes it overall smoother and more consistent... (in this case, the 25fps is in VGA mode with original MorphGear 2.2.5.7 running RawFrameBuffer and set to Auto-Scale, and the 35fps is with reshacked MorphGear in QVGA/GAPI (original) mode with 100%)

so if you have an X51v and can't live without MorphGear, you should still try the ResHack, just don't bother with the enhanced GAPI tweak, as it doesn't seem to help... hopefully soon we'll see a Gapi Tweak for X51v... i've no idea why the X50 version won't work, as the devices are almost identical really.

The main difference between X50V and X51V seems to be WM2005 only. That is probably the problem.

I hope we will here from them soon.

No, Tomtom doesn't work. You have to go standard driver and gapi system process disabled.

Hi, everibody
I have a new Dell X51V + WM5 and it too slow. Dell choose
to change the memory, RAM, ROM etc but this is a crash. The access
for the ROM makes a lag and give slowly programs. It is the same
situation whith the Toshiba E740. Beautiful machine, video card inside,
larges spécifications but slowly because hardware. For me the Dell X51V
is the today's Toshiba E740 . I am very disapoint.
