Haven't tried out gapi tweak 2.0a yet, but on my x51v, the original gapi tweak (picard's 1.1) definetely gave a speed up. Or at least that's what spb benchmark said.

I was thinking doing the same...:approve:

While Emulamer wrote this for the Morphgear v2.2.5.7 I tried it on the lastest verxion v2.3.0.2 and some real positive success. I also had to install Enhanced Gapi Tweak 2.0 Alpha/Beta. Don't forget to turn the Ehanced GAPI tweak on before runing Morphgear and after completing Emulamer's fix below.

I do still have some latency issues I've been unable to resolve; however, this did fix the miniturized joystick skin issues I was having.

Emulamer sure has a lot of skills, we are lucky to have him in our x50v click. Here is Emulamers fix below.

I don't think this is against any rules on the board, but if so, feel free to remove it.

Of course, this is at your own risk, and I have no idea what other side effects with morphgear it could cause, but it worked for me with picard's gapi tweak on my X50v

2.2.5.7 with picard's gapi tweak (assuming the gapi tweak is already installed)
-------------------------------------
1. download and install morphgear 2.2.5.7 to your PPC, start it and choose GAPI as your driver. It will probably crash with access violations and stuff.

2. copy morphgear.exe from your PPC to your desktop, or somewhere else easy to find. note that this is *not* the morphgear installer, but the morphgear program that you will have to copy from your PPC after morphgear is installed. If you take the default install path, it should be at Mobile Device\My Pocket PC\Program Files\Games\MorphGear\MorphGear.exe through windows explorer while your PPC is connected.

3. download a program called resource hacker from Resource Hacker 3.2.3 - Download page

4. start resource hacker (reshack.exe) on your PC, choose file->open and find the morphgear.exe file that you copied from your PPC. Again, this is not the morphgear installer.

5. on the right, you should see a folder called "CEUX" If you don't, you're looking at the wrong file, or the wrong version of Morphgear. Expand "CEUX", and expand "HI_RES_AWARE", which should be under it.

6. Click on the little green thing labeled "1033" under "HI_RES_AWARE" On the right, you should see something like "0002A168 01".

7. with "1033" selected, choose action->delete resource [CEUX:HI_RES_AWARE:1033], and click yes to delete it.

8. click file->save, and then close resource hacker.

9. copy the morphgear.exe on your computer back to where you got it on the PPC (overwriting the one currently on your PPC). Make sure you get the right file on your PC (morphgear.exe), resource hacker will create a morphgear_original.exe, which is not the right one.

10. start morphgear on your PPC and see if it works.

If it doesn't, check again to make sure that you chose GAPI as your driver under global settings in morphgear.
answer: hello my friends. im new at this website. and i have a UTstarcom pocket pc 6700 and i have troubles with the morphgear, i follow this steps to erase the archive that you pointed and everything was perfect, except for the parte when i have to cpy the archive, when i copy it a message apears telling me that the file canot be copied into the PPC because the filed is being used, and im not using it. can you help me plz with this problem?.,... thx

Since I'm getting the ol' Axim set back up, I ran some benchmarks to see which version of the GAPI driver I wanted to load. If anyone is interested in seeing the differences, here are my results with the original, v1.1, and v2.0a drivers on the X50v:

Benchmark Test Bed:
Axim X50v, 128mb RAM (PPC Techs Upgrade), WM2003SE A05 ROM, Hard Reset, plus the following installed: CAB Installer, XCPU Scalar 2007 (no background processes enabled), Sktools 4.4.5.1 (also no background processes enabled), .NET v3.5 Compact Framework, SPB Benchmark v1.6, Dynamix3D Benchmark v1.0b , GAPI Benchmark 2.0, CPU Set to Max (624MHz), No Screen dims or auto-offs, +Soft Resets after each test or setting change.

Code:
		Fresh Setup:	GAPI1.1: GAPI1.1: GAPI1.1 GAPI2.0a GAPI2.0a GAPI2.0b
OEM Driver XScale LCD XScale LCD 2700G LCD Control	XScale LCD XScale LCD 2700G LCD Control
No Screen Sampling	Screen Sampling No Screen Sampling	Screen Sampling
Dynamix3D:
   Average FPS:	41.95 84.97 84.40(Flickered often)	80.20 85.07 83.65 80.22
   Min. FPS:	40 74 62 70 74 46 72
   Max. FPS:	43 93 93 86 94 94 86

SPB Benchmark:
  Graphics Test:
   DDB BitBlt (ms)	3.835 3.835 3.830 3.845 3.835 3.830 3.855
   DIB BitBlt (ms)	43.700 43.005 43.705 43.750 43.775 43.750 43.750
   GAPI BitBlt (ms) 16.175 1.135 1.135 4.580 1.095 1.085 1.095

GAPI Bench 2: Failed Failed Failed Failed Failed Failed
   Max FPS: 55.45 | | | | | |
   Integer: 39.78 | | | | | |
   Float: 1.297 | | | | | |
   3D: 57.2 FPS | | | | | |
   CPU: 2500 | | | | | |
   Real Float:	11.7 | | | | | |
   Flicker: 36.53 V V V V V V
The GAPI Benchmark 2.0 would not run any tests with the enhanced drivers, but the Dynamix3D and SPB benchmarks saw the improvements.
