It can be done if you have a blue tooth or wifi enabled printer or print server adapter.

I found software that prints directly from pda's isn't very robust, and some formating may be lost depending on what you plan to print.

Nope, it supports some Brother and Canon printers too. Can't hurt to give it a try since it's free. :)

Could someone help me set up network printing with HP Mobile Printing? Do I have to join the workgroup? Or should I take the computer that is hosting the printer off the workgroup? I can try this out with two possible printers: the Deskjet 890C and the LaserJet 4MP Monochrome. Help much appreciated!

HP Mobile Printing

1st, thanks to Amphora for reminding me about HPMP. I downloaded & installed it on my new x50v. At first I couldn't figure out how to use it, but then I went to Start/Programs/HP Mobile Printing. It's only an HTML document, but it at least told me that the only way to use HPMP is from an application like Word, or pIE. It also mentioned that I would have to go thru the Configure routine the first time.

I did that but, when I tried to print a test page, my printer just gave a "chosen personality not available" error. I'm online with HP Instant Online Support right now. Stay tuned.

Well, I just got my answer from HP. I can't print to my printer because it's host-based (it's an HP Color Laserjet 3500). There is no software for my PDA to print to this printer. I even tried printing through my XP desktop... no go. I'm so sad...

Removing my today icons seemed to get rid of the error. But still I am not able to print. There seems to be no interface between the printer (LaserJet 4MP and the axim). THanks for any help.

Which brother printers does it support? (I have MFC 420CN)
All I see is HP, Epson, or Canon. Will one of these be emulated by the Brother?

Thanks,
Russ

I don't really know offhand. I remember seeing the options though; if no one else can answer you question, you could try installing it to see.
