Wireless connection to "work" or "internet"

Using my X50's wireless connection, it seems that whenever I want to connect to a network folder (like my shared documents folder on a PC running win XP), I must select this connection connects me to "work" in the wireless connection selection. If I am connection to the internet, then I select "internet". However, I can not select both and one setting will override the other.

Is there a way to get both work and internet on at the same time?

I just got my X50v yesterday and have been configuring the networking this morning.

So far, I've got the same problem.

Set the connection for Internet, and browsing the local network tries to launch the VPN connection.

Set the connection for Work and looking at the net gives me a message about needing to configure proxies.

What a PITA.

A laptop using the same wireless connection will happily log onto the domain and browse the net without any messing about. There must be somekind of workaround for this.

Try Start-Settings-Connections-Connections.
On the Advanced tab, Select Networks, in both drop-down boxes select "My Work Network", then Edit, on the Proxy Settings tab, place a check mark in the box for "This network connects to the Internet".

I connect to everythin using this setting and the only time I need to change is when I use Bluetooth on my cell phone.

Excellent stuff, that did the trick. No more connection messing about for me!

Well, until I take it home and set it up for my home wireless network...
