X51v already VGA??

Help a fellow newbie out; I thought the X51v was already in VGA mode. Before I take the plunge and download the two CAB files to my device, is there an easy way to undue the process if I choose?

Just go Start > Settings > System > Remove Programs.

VGA question

Fair enough. What about the fact that the X51v is a VGA device. Aren't all software on it in VGA mode? Therefore, is there no purpose of a X51v owner to use this program?

In the OzVGA Files tab, add a path to each file.
When you switch from VGA to QVGA, it'll copy thos files over and make them available instead of just deleting them. Not sure if this optimal...but it works.

I am having this same issue, but since the OzVGA locks my PDA at the blue start screen, I tried using the Cab file that was posted. If the creator of said cab file is reading this thread, please look into making the program not delete the two files.

I really don't care to have to install dell navigation software every time I switch to and from VGA.

Thanks

Man I try the OzVGA twice and both have the same result. It seem that everything is okay after I launch it and hit the ozVGA! button it reset itself. Cool so something I did is right.

When it came back on from soft reset, my sign in screen is so tiny and my KEYBOARD is missing, even the OK option on top right is gone, COMPLETELY. Twice I try it and both time and can't sign in due to missing keyboard.

Does anyone have this problem when us OzVGA and password protected? Thanks in advance.

You password program wont work because you are using a QVGA version of it. Ask the supplier to provide the VGA version.

Your icons aren't showing because you do not have the correct dll's on your device. Use the program below to copy these across for you.

I'am using the standard login that came with WM5. Is there one that work with VGA Mode? or probably I can just turn off the password protect.

I'm sorry the link doesn't work. I not sure but I've use all the dll's that are in the OzVGA053.zip.

Thanks for the reply.

I've never used the build in password program so I would be able to say if it works or not in true VGA mode. But I know there are other password programs out there that will work in VGA mode.

I'm sorry the link doesn't work for you. It is a free site and is down quite a lot. I'm looking at another place to host the file. PM me with your email address and I'll email it to you. It is about 500kb.

Cheers
Mark

Thank you very much Markvan for your help. I finally got it all figure out by following his direction in this thread http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...l+VGA+Icons%2A

It is so much easier to do unlike the original post of OzVGA. VGA works great on my x51v with only a few font that is all over the place (such as battery properties, backlight).

It tested fine in TrueVGA mode on my x51v.

i just installed this onto my x51v and it works. i have rom a06 and the only thing that is not functioning correct is the power settings screen. some of the text is still huge and some is tiny but other than that its all good. :approve:

Mad My x51v hanged after copyng .dll files to \Windows directory

I think i was not careful enough updating my x51v. After reset I got Blue screen with DELL logo and nothing more. Even factory reset does not help. It still shows blue screen with DELL logo.
Maybe I am doing something wrong with factory reset?
I press Power and reset at th same time and i gett text:
"To restore facory settings, press [calendar icon]. To cancel this operation, press [Mail icon]. Note: All existing data is lost when you restore factory settings"

I press [calendar icon], device boots (at least it seems so, because screen goes dark for a while) and gives me the same DELL logo on blue screen. Thats all!

Any sugestions?
