Hey guys... I've done a lot of searching, but frankly its easy to find the solutions to problems, but very hard to find more solutions if the first ones don't work. (Since everyone is still busy answering the same questions.) So I'm just gonna ask here and you can move the post if needed:
I have tried ozVGA (from the WM5 article by Menneisyys), and TrueVGA, and no matter what I change in ozVGA, nothing changes except for dialog boxes, and the Start menu label ("Start") moves up and down slightly. Other than that, I cannot achieve anychanges from activating ozVGA. If I click SE_VGA, I get huge everything, like the virtual resolution is turned way down. It seems like whats happening is that its trying to resize things, but overall resolution isn't changing. Believe me when I say that I know what is supposed to be happening, but it is not happening.
I have a X50 w/ WM5, A01 ROM. (PXA270)
If anyone knows if i'm just missing something or has another solution, please lend me a hand! I want more room on this screen!

So, you can't make fonts bigger? As is also pointed out in the main (pre-WM5) article, the system-level font setting doesn't have an effect on all fonts - only some of them.

I guess I kinda worded that all wrong, sorry. What happens is when I switch to ozVGA, nothing gets smaller. Not just fonts, but nothing changes at all on the today screen. No resolution change, nothing looks any smaller or anything like the results of the settings listed on ooosadface's x50v Quicklinks thread (nothing like these screens, which are what I'm wanting.). My start menu bar stays the same size, as do all the fonts of the today screen. Fonts arent really the big issue, I would just like to see the resolution change and I'd be happy even if i couldnt read it! For reference, the only thing that does change is if after i run ozvga, if i open a program like resco file exp, the File Edit and View buttons at the bottom are larger, and all dialog box fonts are bigger. Everything else is the same size. Also, when I click the SEvga button in ozvga, everything gets HUGE.
Sorry if I'm confusing you, perhaps I'm going at it all wrong, but thanks for your help!

What device exactly are you using? It sounds like you might be trying to use ozvga with a qvga device.

It sounds like you are using a x50 and not x50v - I think you need the V model as it has the VGA capabilities....
Then again, I may be wrong... :)
Good luck!

default_applet_links issue
I have tried to install the default_applet_links.cab, but there still seems to be an issue.
The applet links all appear as they should, but the new applets come up all messed up, just like their default counterparts.
I had this installed before and it worked just fine, but now I have tried uninstalling it, and ozvga, and re-installing...but still messed up.
Other than this, vga is working fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
wag

Try the package at:
http://www.jaml.com/MvRTrueVGA/
It does pretty much the same thing.

Sorry about this. Let me get this straight. You can change the resolution from the default view you get on your Axim so you can fit more into the viewable area?
Apart from browsing the internet (which is crap in PIE) what benefits does it give?
BTW I appreciate how much work went into that original post but is there a Noddy's guide...or is that it?
