Hey guys I'm kind of new here but been watching for a while. I've had PDAs since the Phillips Velo and had a bunch of casios, an x5, a tungsten c and now an x30h. I've found all PDAs to be pretty much useless except the x30. It's fast, has a decent screen and the wireless connectivity is quick and stable. But lately I've been using the thing for web browsing and it's got me jonesin' for a VGA screen. My options are the toshiba e8xx, the hp hx4700 or the x50v. I know the x51 is coming out but it seems like the differences from one to the other (besides WM5 being ON THE UNIT) are not worth the price jump. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
Anyway, I have a tungsten C (horrible little thing) that I'm selling on ebay and somehow I ended up bidding on a hp h4350 in the process (couldnt resist: $167.50 mint w/ everything). So now I have the x30h (which I got for $170 shipped on ebay essentially brand new) and this h4350, niether of which are VGA. Damn this is turning into quite a post. The bottom line here is I want a VGA screen and I'm going to sell these PDAs on ebay and get either an x50v or a hx4700. Anyone have any experience w/ both of these PDAs? Any input?
the hx4700 won't be getting a wm2005 upgrade until spring at the very earliest. it costs almost twice as much as the x50v for close to the same features. i'd say the choice is easy. the only thing the 4700 has on the x50v is that the screen is slightly better and bigger, other than that the x50v is a better choice for most people.

Thanks for the good info. Is there a confirmed date for when WM5 will be out for the x50v? Last I heard it was Feb or something.
hx4700 is a really nice.. head to head it probably wins over X50.. but if you consider the price, simply can't beat the X50v which you can get for about $280 with the sale+stackable coupons.. thats simply amazing. so X50v gets my vote.

I am looking online now at Dell and the best price I come up with is $418 which includes extra battery and 2 year warrenty for a X50v. What are stackable coupons?
Those would be ebay coupons. Do a search for 'axim coupon' on ebay and you will find various coupons which can be added to the base price to bring it down considerably. When I got my machine last month I bought a 25% off and a $35 off total coupon combination on ebay for about $8 and brought the $418 price down to $278. The coupons come and go so you need to keep checking until you find what you are looking for but it's really worth the savings. Hope this helps.
I didn't learn about the coupons untill too late, however Dell had 35% off when I bought mine, plus tons of extras. Like alot of people said, the value of the X50v is the best, and I actually perfer the smaller size of the dell because it fits (just barely) in my pocket.
