I believe the Windows Mobile™ 5.0 Upgrade CD are not ready yet. They are supposed to be shipped out in October.
Dell will send you one when they are available.

Never give your credit card number to someone with a fake id

The Upgrade will ship in october (as explained in that nice small print you were too excited to read when you placed your order)

Patience is a virtue. I know. The wait stinks.

Must read the fine print. Or in this case the large print that said it will ship when it is released in October. Anyway, congrats on the new Axim and welcome to AximSite!

Just a confirmation - I ordered and received my Axim X50V about 2 weeks ago. Right on the packing slip it will say "Free Windows Mobile 5.0 will be shipped in October". Save your packing slip and wait - ton of conversation on this site regarding 5.0, but we will not see our copy for at least 4 weeks! Patience padawan...

Thanks, I must have gotten too excited and didn't read the print carefully. Now I'll start transferring whatever I have on my palm to the X50v

Are you sure? Mine didn't say that.

I have just read on Pocket PC Thoughts a comparison between Windows Mobile 2003 and 5.0. Given that X50v and X51v are very similar systems, it seems we will get a huge drop in performance if we upgrade to 5.0.

But it depends if those benchmarks (which are questionable ) translate into real world performance

Funny, I read the opposite. That the x50v will perform better because under 2003SE there were always issues due to our VGA screen having 4x the pixels to handle. The OS under 2005 will be more adept hence we will notice things working faster.
