Wireless Broadband for Dell Axim?

I would love to be able to use Verizon's new high speed wireless boadband service with my Axim X50v. they currently serve only laptop users. I have a CF slot to PC card adapter that will solve the hardware card issue, but does anyone know of a Windows Mobile/Pocket PC software program to access national high speed broadband services? I called Verizon, and they actually refered me to T Mobile! I visited a T mobile shop, and they told me it couldn't be done.

Currently, there aren't any EVDO cards available that will work with a PPC. The only way to get Verizon's EVDO service is to get a phone that has both BT and EVDO, then use it as a modem for the Axim.

Thanks...I've heard that such a product is in development...any guesses on when we might see it?

I have the bb for my laptop. Not nearly as fast as my cable at home. Though is much faster than via my cell phone. Still trying to decide if it is worth the monthly expense -- I don't use it as much as I thought I would be.

I posted a thread about using the verizon bb through my notebook, and using bluetooth to connect my 50v and get net access. Too technical for me to setup right now though.

get moto E815
and order Broadband Access ($60/month)
then config dial-up
number: 777
username: ??????????@vzw3g.com (? is your mobile phone number)
pwd: qnc

if you'd like to get T-Mobile GPRS/EDGE, it costs $19.99 in addition of your voice plan
get nokia 6230 unlocked or moto V330/V547

use the following info to configure
use bluetooth dialup modem
dial *99#
you don't need to put in username and pwd, but you need to go advanced to add extra dialup string
+cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com"
(there's no enough space to put internet2.voicestream.com, use wap is ok for $19.99 option)

Do you have any suggestions about using EDGE on Cingular? I'm planning on getting an X51v soon, and getting a phone that supports EDGE data and Bluetooth so I could use it as a modem for the PDA. Is this easy to set up too?

This might be a dumb question: can you access the gprs/edge network without making a call? I'm thinking of getting a T-mobile account(minimum minutes) just to access internet via T-mobile. The following was on their site:

Unlimited data on the T-Mobile USA network

Instant access to your e-mail

Web browsing and full Internet access

Flexibility in where you work, when you work

$0.20 per minute calling

300 inbound/outbound text messages; $0.05 each additional message

go for Internet Plan (not option)
or Basic Plus and Internet Option
you need EDGE and bluetooth support phone (must support GSM 1900, 850 in some area; and unlocked), then sign up

I haven't heard anything about an aircard for PocketPCs, so I wouldn't hazard a guess.
